Camelot Resort

Hotels Munnar

Camelot stands apart from other resorts for its eco-sensitive design and décor. All around the resort are tea, coffee and spices plantations that remind us that we are in the heartland of the spice capital of the world. There’s a well-kept vegetable farm close by, with all varieties of endemic vegetables.

The resort offers three types of rooms. The Luxury Room has four bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a spacious living room and a beautiful balcony, which faces the mountains. The Deluxe Room – there are two suites that have two bedrooms, attached bathrooms and a dining room. The balcony faces the fruit garden and tea estates. Standard rooms have a bedroom with attached bathroom

The Nilavu, restaurant that takes its name from ‘moonlight’, provides Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes. The conference hall – The Embassy – can seat about 80 people. It has all the modern facilities you might need for a conference, business meeting and parties.

Around the resort you can spot like elephant, bison, wild dog and wild boars in the mornings and evenings. Birds such as black birds, kites, hornbills and many smaller varieties are frequent visitors. The Atlas Moth is seen in abundance. Wild are also found in plenty around the place.

The Camelot Rock View Point, within the property, is just 150 metres up along a longer trekking route. From this point you can see nine estate mountains: Kannimala, Rajamala, Kallar, Nallathanny, Nyamakad, Vagavarai, Silent Valley, Parvathy and Lekshmi. From here you can get a good glimpse of Anaimudi, the highest peak south of the Himalayas. You can go trekking in the other routes, too. Jungle camping and night safaris can be arranged.

About a kilometre up into the property is the Camelot Trekking Pinnacle that can be reached in less than four hours. On a sunny day, you can spot Kochi, on the Arabian coast. For the trek to the Camelot Trekking Pinnacle and for jungle safaris, necessary accessories and medicines will be supplied by the resort.

The resort has its own micro hydroelectric power source and water supply. The natural clear mineral water collected from a perennial stream, filtered and supplied hygienically is safe and tasty. Bottled mineral water is also available. Mingara is a clubhouse that offers indoor games. The resort organises frequent campfires and games.
