Idukki Arch Dam

Built across the Kuravan and Kurathi hills, it is Asia’s first arch dam and the world’s second. It stands 550ft tall and 650ft wide. It provides water supply to the nearby districts. The Cheruthoni, Idukki and Kulamavu dams form a 33-sq.km water reservoir. It is surrounded by the Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary. Lots of flora and fauna can be found here.
