The Tall Trees Resort
The drive to the resort
is as exhilarating as the premises of the resort itself. Approach to
the resort is dotted with viewpoints, shoal forests and spices
plantations. The resort is eight km from the Munnar town, and stands in
a bio-diverse ecosystem, which it has successfully preserved in the
sprawling 66 acres. All the modern amenities guests need are provided,
too, in this haven of nature. There are around 600 trees overshadowing
the resort landscape covered with stretches of preserved wilderness,
carefully nurtured cardamom plantations, soft streams, rocky
formations, numerous orchids and wild plants covering the tree barks
and rocks. Coupled with this is the presence of many varieties of
birds, butterflies, moths and small wild animals. This
ecologically-preserved area is the best place to spend a relaxing
weekend.
There are three types of cottages: the Luxury Cottage has two well-furnished bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a spacious living room, dining room and two balconies; the Deluxe Cottage has a well-furnished bedroom with bathroom, living room, dining room and two balconies; and, the Standard Cottage has a large bedroom with attached bath and a spacious balcony.
To ensure privacy and not to disturb nature by felling trees, each of the cottages is independent and built on stilts. The interior designing and furnishing have local Kerala traditional looks, combined with the modern, comfortable living. All the rooms have cable TV, coffee/tea maker and other facilities.
The restaurant serves Continental, Indian and Kerala delicacies. It is glass roofed structure that gives you the feeling of merging with Mother Nature. A perfect evening would be a candle-lit dinner, music playing in the background and birds chirping to the tune. The open-air theatre and campfire areas all enhance the unity with the earth, at the same time giving an unearthly thrill to the guests. Guests can treat themselves to campfires and barbeques. Accommodation and meals to the drivers are provided free of cost.
Within the resort property itself you can go for short and long treks. Cycling, river crossing, trekking, bird watching, boating and rockclimbing can be arranged by the resort. The campfires also provide opportunity for cultural and entertainment programs, with the guests finding them relaxing and a learning experience as well. We can arrange dances, musicals and other performances by professionals. A home theatre, too, is available. The resort has facilities for indoor and outdoor games. A game of golf can be arranged on request.
